In the neon-soaked sprawl of our dystopian reality, the corpo gonk Elon Musk and the gonk Donald Trump continue their high-stakes charades, peddling illusions of progress while tightening their grip on power. Trump, ever the showman, scribbled his name on an executive order claiming to make in vitro fertilization (IVF) more accessible and affordable. He directs his Domestic Policy Council to whip up recommendations within 90 days to slash IVF costs and safeguard access. But the order's as vague as a back-alley dealer's promises, leaving out the crucial deets on how these treatments will be funded. IVF ain't cheap, running between $12,000 and $25,000 per cycle, and most folks need multiple rounds to hit the jackpot. Trump's flashy move seems more like a distraction from his previous antics, like stacking the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, which led to states clamping down on reproductive rights, IVF included.

Meanwhile, Musk, the self-styled tech savior, floats a scheme to dish out "DOGE dividends," proposing to funnel 20% of the so-called savings from his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) back to taxpayers. He's talking about cutting $2 trillion in government agencies and spending and tossing $400 billion back to the masses—roughly $5,000 per household. But budget watchdogs are raising red flags, pointing out that such a plan would need Congress's green light, and those suits might have other ideas, like chipping away at the national debt or extending tax breaks for their cronies. Plus, the legality of DOGE is still tangled up in the courts, and Musk's grandiose promises lack the hard proof to back 'em up. These two puppeteers keep the neon lights flashing and the smoke machines pumping, pretending to champion the little guy while playing a rigged game. Trump's vague orders and Musk's pie-in-the-sky schemes are just different shades of the same old con, keeping the rest of us plugged into their manufactured reality. In this high-tech, low-life world, it's clear: the corpo gonk and the gonk are just playing us all, and the game is stacked in their favor.
